General Education Development (GED)

The GED® is a four-part test, split into separate individual tests, that are taken to show that students have the knowledge and skills equivalent to a high school graduate. Each test is $30.00 each and may be taken separately.

The following areas are assessed are:

  • Reasoning through language arts (reading and writing)
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

The College's Testing Center offers the GED® tests at regularly scheduled days and times. The Testing Center can be reached at 425-388-9288.

Scam Alert!- Online GED testing is only available through GED.com

All GED® testing must be done at an approved testing center or through GED.com in order to receive a valid GED certificate.

Benefits to acquiring a GED® Certificate-

  • A GED® is accepted by most employers as an equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • A GED® accepted by most college admissions officers
  • Earning a GED® demonstrates a level of learning that meets or exceeds the performance of the top two thirds of U.S high school graduates.
  • Students who take courses to help become ready for the GED® will qualify for a scholarship for college level classes at EvCC.

GED Classes through EvCC-

Currently EvCC offers direct GED classes at Tulalip Tribes and Spanish GED at EVCC and Casino Road Academy. 

EvCC main campus does not offer direct GED classes in English but students who would like to work on their writing, reading, and math skills before taking the test are encouraged to enroll in Transitional Studies courses.

Our High School 21+ is an ability based program that takes into account your life experiences and your previous high school credits and guides you towards earning your high school diploma! This amazing programs takes your skills and knowledge through a portfolio class and helps you find ways to show how you’ve met some of the minimum requirements for your high school diploma. This is a great program for anyone who is turning 21 or is 21 and older and looking to earn their diploma and another option for students interested in a GED/High School diploma.
