Voices of EvCC - Marsha Valentine

Marsha ValentineMarsha Valentine started Everett Community College's yoga program in 1975 and has taught yoga every year since.

She is a second-generation instructor, whose early memories of Everett Junior College are from the days her father, Cedric Wardall, taught economics in the college's business department. Her father taught from 1946 to 1972, and especially enjoyed his work as a student advisor. Her mother, Edna Wardall, attended Everett Community College as a student, earning her nursing degree at age 64. Marsha is pictured with a photograph of her father and mother, with her mother proudly wearing her nursing cap.

Marsha studied ballet at an early age and became a professional ballet dancer. After having four children, she decided to become an instructor. As an teacher, Marsha focuses on the holistic benefits of yoga - students learn nutrition, breathing, relaxation, stress reduction along with yoga postures.
