Come and have a laugh, meet new people, and engage in an important conversation about mental health.

Suicide, self-harm, depression, anxiety, and shame are becoming increasingly prevalent in today's world. The rapid growth of social media is perpetuating the idea that we must constantly appear to be perfect and happy in order to achieve likes, followers, and personal self-worth. There is more pressure than ever to edit, modify, manipulate, and create an image or story of ourselves that will appeal to others. We can help eliminate this fear by exposing and discussing the human condition. When we speak openly and begin to accept ourselves as human beings, we can take positive steps forward.

One person who can help facilitate this conversation is Adam Grabowski. He has spoken at over 600 colleges, been named as college comic of the year multiple times, and even appeared on America's Got Talent in 2016. In addition to being a comedian, Adam now speaks about his depression and anxiety, introducing the #SayItAnyway Campaign through which he empowers students to talk about their own experiences and mental health. Adam's message about finding your voice and understanding you're not alone in how you think and feel leaves a much greater impact because it's a part of a comedy show.

Open to all EvCC students, The Associated Student Body (ASB) Senate Meetings are held in Jackson Center, Room 106 and virtually from 2:30-4:30pm. The ASB Senate meets to discuss student issues and concerns at both the college and state level, as well as conduct business which includes the student budget proposals, reports on the college and Senate committee work, and provide feedback to the College Administration. Come provide input, share concerns, and gain valuable leadership skills, while enhancing your resume, college and scholarship applications.

If you would like to become an ASB Student Senator, you must meet the minimum requirements & complete the "self-elect" process:

• Currently enrolled EvCC student
• Maintain a minimum of five credits
• Maintain a quarterly/cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
• Complete the ASB Student Senate "self elect" process.

2022 African African-American Family Event
Featuring author and poet, The Smiley Experience.

The African/African American Family Event is a campus wide
effort to create a sense of belonging for black students, by
building bridges between current/prospective students and the
EvCC community. This year's theme is Hip Hop, The Language
of America: From an epidemic to a pandemic, how do we recover?

We want to use this time to look at how African American
people have advanced pop culture in the USA. We will also
take a look at how communities overcame the war on drugs
in the 1980s, as a way to move forward from the COVID-19
pandemic that we face today.

We will also have Caribbean and soul food inspired catering from Snazzy Eats,
along with a scholarship opportunity!

Cafecito con Pan is an event to honor the influence, history, and culture that has been passed down from past generations coming from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central, and South America. Part of the first generation experience is having to navigate college! Sometimes it can feel like we are a baby learning how to swim for the first time. While also keeping in mind the opportunities our elders didn’t have, which can be alot for us to carry. It can make us feel likethere is more pressure to succeed and can impact our mental health.

In this event we hope to unite all students in a safe and open space where everyone can sit down, have conversations with other students, share experiences and enjoy a shared tradition of having a piece of pan dulce (sweet bread) with a warm beverage! Cafecito con Pan is so simple yet so impactful in a way where all students can connect and talk about their experiences with each other, give tips, resources, and connect with people who may have the same shared
experiences!

Besides cafe and pan there will also be music, and traditional games such as Loteria! You can compare loteria to bingo! This event is for Everyone! So We hope you can join us from 10:00am to 1:00pm in the PSU cafe on Wednesday, October 5th!

Come and enjoy some pan dulce, meet new people, play games, and enjoy great music!

Puede hacernos sentir que hay más presión para tener éxito y puede afectar nuestra salud mental. En este evento, esperamos unir a todos los estudiantes en un espacio seguro y abierto donde todos puedan sentarse, conversar con otros estudiantes, compartir experiencias y
disfrutar de una tradición compartida de comer un pedazo de pan dulce con una bebida caliente. ¡Cafecito con Pan es tan simple pero tan impactante de una manera en que todos los estudiantespueden conectarse y hablar sobre sus experiencias entre ellos, dar consejos y recursos, yconectarse con personas que pueden tener las mismas experiencias compartidas!

Celebrity gardening expert Ciscoe Morris will share tips and answer questions about sustainable gardening. Morris gives advice on his “Gardening with Ciscoe” segments on KING 5 TV. “Ask Ciscoe” is a top selling garden book nationwide, and his most recent book "Oh, La La!" was released in 2020.

Every May, Everett Transit celebrates Bike Everywhere Month. Did you know that the American Red Cross supplies 40% of the nations blood supply? The pandemic has caused the most severe blood shortage in over a decade, and now more than ever donations are needed. Prior to the pandemic students made up 25% of all donations in 2019, but now make up just 10% due to campus closures across the nation. 

Donated blood impacts patients all across the US including burn victims, trauma patients, the chronically ill, and those fighting cancer. We encourage everyone willing and able to join us in donating blood and give the gift of life.

SNO provides networking, activities, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach for the nursing students of Everett Community College. We also welcome students who are interested in nursing and want to learn more about the nursing program.

The Trojan Men's Basketball Team travels to Lakewood, WA to participate in the 2022 Raider Classic hosted by Pierce College. This is a three day tournament - Friday, Dec. 2nd to Sunday, Dec. 4th. The Trojans first game is on the 2nd against the Pierce College Raiders at 8pm. They will then play the Clackamas Community College Cougars on Saturday, the 3rd at 4pm. On Sunday, the 4th, they will play the Treasure Valley Community College Chukars at 2pm.

The Trojan Men's Soccer team won their 1st round playoff game against Tacoma CC 3-0 on Wed. Nov. 2nd and advance to the NWAC 2nd Round Playoff Game! This game will be played at Lane CC, the Southern Region 1st place team on Saturday, Nov. 5th and start at 7:00pm. The winner of that game will advance to the NWAC Semi-Finals at Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA on Friday, Nov. 11th and will start at 4:00pm.

The Trojan Volleyball Team will travel to Mt. Vernon, WA to play a league match with the Cardinals of Skagit Valley College on Friday, Oct. 28th. First set begins at 7pm of the 3 out of 5 set match.

The Trojan Women's Basketball Team will host the 26th Annual EvCC Women's Classic on Friday-Sunday Dec. 2nd - Dec. 4th.
There will be 3 games each day. Teams participating are: Everett CC, Big Bend CC, CC's of Spokane, Clackamas CC, Whatcom CC & Skagit Valley College.
