Writing Prompt
Imagine a character in a difficult or frightening situation. Write a passage beginning with the character’s action, then show us the scene through the character’s eyes. Use no “filters.” 

Looking to strengthen your writing? The Writing Club is a place for serious writers to convene for encouragement and critique. Writers of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry are welcome. Writers meet weekly to write and to promote awareness, understanding, and discussion of the various literary genres. Members are also involved in a variety of campus activities related to the literary arts.

Winter Club Fest

Find the ugliest sweater and join us to say goodbye to winter! Student LIFE will be hosting our
quarterly Club Fest in Jackson Center on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 1 to 4 pm. Get some
goodies and learn how to get involved on campus by checking out the tables hosted by EvCC’s
many clubs.

Prizes:

1st: $50 VISA gift Card 

2nd: $25 VISA gift Card 

3rd: $50 toward a Club budget 

The winter fun doesn’t stop there, come dressed in your ugliest sweater for the costume contest.
Sign-up at the door and strut your stuff! 1st, 2nd, and club 1st place winners will be selected,
winning a $25, $50 VISA gift card!

All attendees will vote on who they believe has the best
ugliest sweater and winners will be announced at 3:50 pm. Are costume contests not your thing?
Stop by the club tables, the photo booth, insomnia cookies, activities, and more!
Please note, due to COVID precautions and social distancing requirements, we will be
monitoring the number of guests at the door. If we reach building capacity, we may not be able
to admit additional guests.

ASB Senate Meeting

Open to all EvCC students, The Associated Student Body (ASB) Senate Meetings are held in Jackson Center, Room 106 and virtually from 2:30-4:30pm. The ASB Senate meets to discuss student issues and concerns at both the college and state level, as well as conduct business which includes the student budget proposals, reports on the college and Senate committee work, and provide feedback to the College Administration. Come provide input, share concerns, and gain valuable leadership skills, while enhancing your resume, college and scholarship applications.

If you would like to become an ASB Student Senator, you must meet the minimum requirements & complete the "self-elect" process:

  • Currently enrolled EvCC student
  • Maintain a minimum of five credits
  • Maintain a quarterly/cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
  • Complete the ASB Student Senate "self elect" process.
