Program Map for Cosmetology

The 1730-hour Cosmetology program is made up of three subdivisions: hair care, skin care and nail care services. Everett Community College's requirement for licensing is 1730 credited clock hours, and passing all the required classes. The curriculum meets the requirements for both theory and practical applications, and prepares the prospective cosmetologist to take the Washington State licensing examinations. Students can pursue a Certificate in Cosmetology, a Certificate in Hair Design, or an Associate in Technical Arts (ATA) degree in the Cosmetology program.

Note: In order to work as a Cosmetologist or Hair Designer, students must possess a Washington state Cosmetology or Hair Design license  This license is granted to students who complete the program, acquire 1730 cosmetology hours or 1500 hair design hours and pass the Washington State Licensure exam for Cosmetology or Hair Design.

For more information, contact a program advisor. Faculty program advisors for Cosmetology are Tara Murphy tmurphy@everettcc.edu and Tracy Schuetze at tschuetze@everettcc.edu.
