There are many ways to help you pay for college. Here are a few options to look into.

Note: You should never have to pay money to apply for financial aid or scholarships.

1. Financial Aid

When you’re looking for money for college, the best place to start is by filling out the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)  or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA). WASFA is only for undocumented and select non-citizens who are Washington state residents.

The information you submit is used to figure out if you qualify for grants, work study, and/or student loans. Visit EverettCC.edu/ApplyFA for directions to file your FAFSA or WASFA, information on completing EvCC financial aid paperwork, and deadlines.

Grants

Grants are free money for college that you don’t have to repay. They are awarded on the basis of need. Grants include:

Work Study

Provides part-time jobs to students with financial need. When you fill out your FAFSA or WASFA, note that you’re interested in work study. For more information, email fa_workstudy@everettcc.edu

Student Loans

Student loans are offered by the federal government and banks. Loans must be paid back. For more information, visit the U.S. Department of Education site StudentAid.gov  or contact us at loans@everettcc.edu

2. Scholarships

5. Payment Plan

EvCC offers a payment plan to give you more time and flexibility to pay your tuition and fees to EvCC by splitting the amount owed into payments, plus a one-time $10 processing fee. See EverettCC.edu/Cashiers for details and deadlines.

6. Tuition Reimbursement

Some businesses help their employees pay for college. Ask your employer if your company offers a tuition reimbursement program.
