ELEVATE

Empowering Learners to Excel Through Vocational Advancement Training & Education

The ELEVATE program is funded by the Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) . This program aims to increase the percentage of adults ages 25 to 44 in Washington State who have a post-secondary credential (certificate and/or degree).

Currently, *45.9% of adults ages 25 to 44 in Washington State do not have a post-secondary credential. ELEVATE hopes to reduce barriers to education and make it easier for Adult Learners to obtain certificates or degrees (*Source: WSAC Staff (2024, November 4). SAP Dashboard. Strategies

Academic Credit for Prior Learning (ACPL)

If you have certificates or learned experience from work or places other than college, you might be eligible for college credit for skills that you have. This is called Academic Credit for Prior Learning (ACPL).

The following community organizations have classes that are already eligible for college credit at EvCC:

Evergreen Goodwill Job Training and Education Center:

  • ABE Computer & Mobile Basics
  • ABE Microsoft Word & Google Docs
  • ABE Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets
  • ABE Microsoft PowerPoint & Google Slides

Volunteers of America:

  • Basic Mediator Training
  • Family Mediator Training
  • Practicum and Co-mediation work

Latino Educational Training Institute (LETI):

  • Classes are currently being evaluated, check back later

If you have work or military experience, please use Credit Predictor Pro  to see if you are eligible for credit at EvCC.

To be awarded credit you must be a student pursuing a certificate or degree at EvCC.

Translate and evaluate foreign transcripts

Do you have a degree from another country in a language other than English? ELEVATE believes that no matter where you did the learning, that it should count!

We use grant funds to pay for transcript translation for EvCC students pursuing a degree here. Your prior degree might help you get credits here at EvCC

Increase sense of belonging for Adult Learners

Visit our Belonging Center in Parks Student Union (PSU) 307! This newly furnished space features dynamic seating, charging stations, cozy spots to study, and books and toys to keep your kids occupied.

Located near the Financial Aid and Workforce Funding departments, the Belonging Center’s location allows you to check in with the funding you need to get started. We are also located by a computer use space for you to use as needed.

We believe that creating a sense of belonging increases the likelihood of success throughout your college experience.

Partner with community organizations

ELEVATE understands the importance of community support and engagement. We work to partner with community organizations that work with Adult Learners to facilitate referrals, coordinate services, and make sure any Adult Learner who is interested has multiple on ramps to a certificate or degree.

We currently partner with Evergreen Goodwill’s Job Training and Education Center as well as LETI (the Latino Educational Training Institute) with more partnerships currently being developed.

If you are a community organization that works with Adult Learners and would like to be involved, please contact elevate@everettcc.edu.
