What is Student LIFE Publicity Services?

Acting as an amplifier of the student voice, Student LIFE Publicity Services is a resource for promotional and informational media and graphic design services for Student LIFE, Trojan Activities Board, Student Clubs & Organizations, Student Government, events/series. As well as generates school spirit & excitement with event appearances by EvCC’s larger than life Trojan Mascot!

Each Spring Student LIFE Publicity Services hires EvCC students for leadership positions on campus as Graphic Design Interns, Social Media & Publicity Interns, and the Trojan Mascot!

In these roles you will: develop a wide range of transferable skills, get real world industry experience, build your resume and portfolio, get connected to your campus community, and serve others while having fun!

Qualifications

  • Be a currently enrolled EvCC student in at least 10 credits or be registered for 10 credits beginning Fall quarter.
  • Have a quarterly and cumulative college GPA of at least 2.5. New students are welcome to apply!
  • Able to make a one academic year commitment to the position. (Fall-Spring)
  • Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, self-discipline and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Student Graphic Design Intern(s) must have experience and classes in visual communications and Adobe Creative Suite programs (preferably Photoshop & Illustrator), demonstrate strong communication (written and visual), and interpersonal skills.
  • Social Media & Publicity Intern(s) must have introductory knowledge of Adobe photo editing software, DSLR camera, video camera/editing software, and experience with social media platforms (including Facebook and Instagram), demonstrate strong communication (written and visual), and interpersonal skills.
  • Trojan Mascot(s) must be able to lift, pull, push and/or carry 50 pounds as necessary, stand, sit, run and walk for up to 6-8 hours, work in/outdoor conditions (to include heat, cold and rain), demonstrate strong communication (written and non-verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • The hiring of all candidates that are selected for positions is tentative until a criminal background and EvCC conduct check is completed.
