Policies and Procedure

In recognition of its obligation to monitor, investigate, resolve, and implement corrective measures to stop, remediate and prevent discrimination, the College has established the following policies and procedures:

The Role and Responsibility of the Title IX Coordinator

The Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX Program serves as the designated Title IX Coordinator and oversees compliance with all aspects of the sex/gender harassment, discrimination and misconduct policy at the College. Any individual who has experienced, witnessed, or has awareness of sexual violence or misconduct are encouraged to report the information to the Title IX Coordinator.

Name: Susanne Weatherly
Title: Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX Programs
Office: Olympus Hall, room 114
Contact Info: titleixcoordinator@everettcc.edu; 425-388-9271

The Title IX Coordinator also serves as a campus resource and is available to provide guidance concerning the College's antidiscrimination policies and procedures, discuss reporting options, and connect individuals with resources.

Mandatory Reporting

All employees of the College are designated as responsible employees and, as such, are required to report any information of an alleged Title IX violation, whether received formally or informally, to the Title IX Coordinator. The employee may contact the Title IX Coordinator directly (TitleIXcoordinator@everettcc.edu or 425-388-9271) or may file a Title IX report through the College's online reporting system. If information regarding a possible sexual misconduct violation is disclosed during a confidential counseling session with a campus counselor, the counselor is not required to report this information to the Title IX Coordinator.

Additionally, by law all employees are required to report child abuse at the first opportunity and never later than 48 hours after the employee has reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered abuse or neglect. All employees, including student employees, must report suspected child abuse or neglect to Washington State's 24-hour hotline at 1-866-363-4276. Employees are also required to notify the Vice President of Administrative Services of suspected child abuse by phone, email, in-person or using the mandatory child abuse reporting form

Everett Community College will seek to protect the privacy of all the parties involved to the fullest extent possible, consistent with the legal obligation to investigate, take appropriate remedial and/or disciplinary action, and comply with federal and state law, as well as Everett Community College policies and procedures. Everett Community College cannot guarantee complete confidentiality.

Retaliation Prohibited

Any person who thinks he/she has been the victim of retaliation should contact the Title IX Coordinator immediately.
