Diane Troyer (Leadership Coach) Diane Troyer currently serves as an educational consultant specializing on access and completion in public community colleges and is a Coach for Achieving the Dream. As an Achieving the Dream Coach, Dr. Troyer consults with two community colleges in the Pacific Northwest region.
Prior to her role with Achieving the Dream, Dr. Troyer served as a Senior Program Officer with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and served on the Postsecondary Success team, which is focused on significantly increasing the numbers of low income young adults who obtain a postsecondary degree or credential that has value in the workplace.
Before joining the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, she served as the founding president of Lone Star College-CyFair, in Cypress Texas. As the founding president, Dr. Troyer was responsible for the vision, planning, design, construction, program development, hiring and community partnerships for the launch of the first college or university to open in the 21st Century. Prior to founding Lone Star College, CyFair, she served as president of Lone Star College-Tomball, Tomball Texas, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland and faculty member and administrator at El Paso Community College, El Paso, Texas.
Dr. Troyer has been honored as a Distinguished Graduate of the CCLP Program. She has served on the board and executive committee of the American Association of Community Colleges, Board member and President of the National Council of Workforce Education, Chairman of the Board of the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Community College Research Center Advisory Board (CCRC, Columbia University Teachers College), Board member of the El Paso and Baltimore YWCA’s and executive committee of the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. Current Board memberships include educaTE Yucatan and Academy for College Excellence Steering Committee.
Educational Background: Dr. Troyer received her B.S. in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska; an M.Ed. in Health Education at the University of Texas at El Paso; and a Ph.D. in the Community College Leadership Program from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Lynda Villanueva (Data Coach) Lynda Villanueva serves as the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Brazosport College and is a Data Coach for Achieving the Dream. As Vice President, she serves as the College’s Chief Academic and Student Affairs Officer.
As an Achieving the Dream Data Coach, Dr. Villanueva consults with a particular interest in student success courses, college readiness, and developmental education. She is also the Achieving the Dream Core Team Leader, a Round 3 ATD Leader College.
Her research interests include counterproductive work behavior, occupational health psychology, and the development and evaluation of standards in education. Prior to Brazosport College and her role with Achieving the Dream, she was an organizational consultant for various organizations, specializing in the areas of personnel selection and organizational development.
Dr. Villanueva holds a B.S. in Psychology from Colorado State University, a Master of Arts degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston, and a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston.
