EvCC Alert Update: Incident in Lot K Sept. 21

The Everett Police Department took a man into custody in EvCC parking lot K Sept. 21 after he reportedly made some threats to people in the parking lot. 

The man, who police believe is homeless, mentioning shooting and stabbing, which prompted calls to 911. Everett police were nearby responding to an accident, so they got to parking lot K quickly.

As officers were responding, they requested that the Everett University Center (WSU Everett) building go into lockdown, which they did briefly. The lockdown was ended by police after they took the man into custody and determined that there was no further threat. 

EvCC was in communication with Everett police throughout the incident. The college sent two messages through the EvCC's emergency alert system so students, faculty, and staff were aware of the situation. 

The college appreciates the quick calls to 911 and the fast response from Everett police to campus. If you see or hear anything that causes you concern for your safety or the safety of others, please call 911, then contact EvCC Security.
