Meet Our Cosmetology Instructors

We would like to take time to introduce you to our Cosmetology Instructors.  Our Instructors bring years of experience and a multitude of talent to EvCC's cosmetology program.  Most of all they bring a wealth of knowledge into teaching and enthusiasm into the art of being a cosmetologist.  Read our Instructor's bios, we are sure you will agree.

Tara MTara Murphy

Hello, my name is Tara. I am very excited to be joining you on this adventure you are about to take. I will be one of your instructors that you will be working with over your Cosmetology learning career.  I have been in the Cosmetology industry now for 7 years and love what I do. I have a passion for all parts of the industry, but I would have to say that I have a true passion for the technical side of the industry.  I have been educating at Everett Community College now for a year and growing.

I enjoy watching students advance as they move through the program. I look forward to working with in the future.

Lucia MLucia Muñoz

Hello, my name is Lucia Muñoz.  I have a great passion for the beauty industry; it has offered me great opportunities in both the educational and business aspects.

My career started here at EVCC School of Cosmetology 12 years ago.  I have worked in full service salons throughout the years, until six years ago I decided to continue my education at EvCC.  I enrolled in EvCC’s Instructor Training Program.  As an instructor and alumni, I can testify to the outstanding structure of the Instructor Training Program at EvCC, it is a very well rounded program.

It is very important to me to stay up to date with the latest trends, techniques and needs of our always changing industry. I have instructional experience with High School Students and College Students as well as current experience behind the chair in a full service salon.  I am very grateful and excited to be part of this very promising program with a solid team of instructors. I believe everything is possible and I am here to help you in any way I can in your career needs.

Kiana Njie

My name is Kiana Njie, I headed straight into the world of cosmetology as soon as I graduated high school. I completed my training at Gene Juarez Academy in August, 2007, and have been working in the salon ever since. The best part of my job is getting to make clients feel beautiful, and creating amazing relationships.

In 2011 I became a licensed instructor. I became an instructor because I love the industry so much I wanted to be able to share my knowledge and teach others that are just as excited about this amazing industry.

I look forward to meeting and working with each and every student, and future student of the Evcc Cosmetology program. Working with you will be a great pleasure, and I cannot wait to help you find your inspiration and sculpt you into the future cosmetologist you want to be!

Tracy Schuetze

Hi, I am Tracy Schuetze. I started my career in Cosmetology as soon as I graduated from the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in 20007. During my time at the salon, I was teaching my clients about their hair, lead a few classes and fell in love with teaching. In 2011, I got my instructor's license and have been teaching in beauty schools ever since. I have advanced education in haircutting, hair color, creative perming and hair styling. I am a certified educator for Aveda men's cutting, hair color and haircutting.

I am very excited to be at Everett Community College and look forward to working with you in the future.

Jazmine McDonald

Hi, my name is Jazmine McDonald, I have always had an interest into the beauty industry as a kid. I noticed how mesmerized I was while getting my hair or my nails done and once I started practicing on my friends and family I definitely knew I was meant to make this a career. I was raised in Panama and lived there for 15 years. I attended EvCC for Cosmetology in 2015 and graduated in 2016 and started working in a salon. Shortly after I was able to use my bilingual skills and joined the EvCC Cosmo Team as an Instructional Tech. While being part of the team I fell in love with teaching and decided to start my Instructor Training. I enjoy seeing students have that aha moment where they get to experience or learn something that is completely new to them. I completed all my training at EvCC and now I’m glad to say that I have made it to being part of the Faculty Team. Hard work, patience and drive definitely pays off.

I am so thrilled to be able to be part of such an awesome team and also part of the Everett Community College family. I can’t wait for you to join us and become part of our cosmetology program and learn as much about the industry and see the progress you will make while sharing this amazing journey.
