How to Log into CDS Student AccessPortal
- Once you open the login page to AccessPortal, use your EvCC campus login credentials, which include a username and password. This is the same username and password that you use for your student email and to access the campus computers and other technologies.
- If you experience login difficulties, most likely your password has expired, and you need to reset it. You can reset your campus login password at the EvCC Student Email page.
- If you still experience login problems after you reset your password, check out Access Portal Login Help.
Your Major Student Responsibilities
- Request accommodations every quarter for each course by logging into the Student AccessPortal.
- Send a Faculty Notification Letter (FNL) to each of your course instructors to inform them of your approved accommodations.
- Complete any additional accommodation implementation steps for that class.
- Let the Center for Disability Services (CDS) Office know if any approved accommodations are not in place, and we will work to provide appropriate support.
Requesting to Use Accommodations
Request your accommodations in the Student AccessPortal before the start of every quarter. To prevent delays, submit by the “Request for Accommodations Services” deadline listed on the CDS Calendar.
Approximately one week before the term begins, your instructor will receive your approved accommodations via the online Faculty Notification Letter. A copy will also be sent to your student's email.

How to Communicate With Your Instructor
After your Faculty Notification Letters (FNLs) go out, contact each instructor through email, Canvas Inbox, or office hours to confirm and plan your accommodations confidentially.
If you’re unsure how to approach your instructor, see our CDS Guide to Communicating with Your Instructors.
After meeting with your instructors, confirm you’ve completed any additional steps to get your accommodations.
How to Contact CDS Office if You Have Any Issues
Let the CDS Office know promptly if any approved accommodations are missing or not functioning as intended. Addressing your concerns early is simpler and helps prevent recurring issues.
You can also review our Conflict Mediation and Grievance Resolution Procedure information.
CDS Student Handbook
During your intake appointment, you may have received an electronic information packet about your accommodations. A digital copy is available:
Privacy and Your Information
During your intake appointment, we reviewed your privacy rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). To learn more, review Privacy and Your Information.
How to Request Your CDS Records
If you need copies of documents you submitted or records of your accommodation requests while attending Everett Community College, or you are transferring to a new school and need your records, please follow the step-by-step instructions listed on Your Accommodation Records.
CDS Equipment Loans
The CDS Office provides a limited number of equipment loans as a courtesy to our students. Due to high demand, we do not guarantee the equipment will be available at all times. Learn more about this at Equipment Loans.
Starfish Progress Surveys
The CDS Office is part of EvCC’s Early Alert Support Community. If an instructor has concerns about your academic progress, they may raise a Starfish flag. EvCC uses Starfish to run Early Alert Progress Surveys and to facilitate communication with instructors and campus student support services. The CDS Office may contact you based on these alerts to offer support. Read more about Starfish!
Resources for CDS Students
EvCC offers extensive resources for students with disabilities. To learn more, review our Resources for CDS Students!
