Corked in Time |
January 15 11:00am |
Trojans! Start your Winter quarter with intention, creativity, and a spark of imagination—TAB invites you to Corked in Time, a hands-on time capsule making experience created to help you reflect, reset, and express yourself. At this event, students can build their own mini jar time capsules, complete with sand, fun mini–figurines, and a handwritten note for their future selves. But that’s not all—we’re also providing paint so you can fully customize your cork lid, glass jar, and even seashells, turning your capsule into a unique piece of art! Seal it up, set it aside, and reopen it at the end of the quarter to see how far you’ve come! Enjoy a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with music, snacks, and drinks while you create something meaningful, funny, or simply chaotic; it’s your capsule—your story. January 21 8:30am to 4:30pm |
3rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Food Drive The Legacy of Dr. King: “Whatever affects one directly, happens to all indirectly” "If you can’t be a sun, be a star. For it isn’t by size that you WIN or FAIL. Be the best of whatever you are” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Let’s honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service at Everett Community College with a campus-wide food drive in support of the EvCC Food Pantry on January 21, 2026. This day of service calls on students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members to take collective action against one of Washington State’s most persistent equity gaps: food insecurity. Dr. King taught that justice is interconnected and that the well-being of one person impacts all of us. In that spirit, this food drive centers sustainable community care, mutual aid, and shared responsibility to support members of our campus community experiencing hunger. This event is open to all EvCC students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members. Light refreshments will be provided for volunteers - Drive through and walk up options will be available for accessibility! - Please follow the signs to use the drive-through to drop off your donations. Students Against Human Trafficking: An Afternoon with David Zach |
January 29 2:00pm to 3:00pm |
Hey Trojans! January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and in recognition, the Trojan Activity Board is proud to host an informative presentation and discussion on the realities of human trafficking on January 29, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Jackson Conference Center, Room 101. This event is open to all EvCC students and faculty. Donuts and hot beverages will be available for EvCC students. This event will feature David Zach, an advocate in the fight against human trafficking and the lead singer-songwriter of his band. In addition to his work as a musician, Zach volunteers as an undercover operative with the abolitionist organization The Exodus Road, where he has spent time overseas documenting instances of children being sold and helping gather evidence used to support rescues and arrests. His story centers on the idea that ordinary people can make a meaningful difference in the fight for freedom and justice. During the presentation, David Zach will share insights and documentary footage from his experiences, bring awareness to the often unseen realities of human trafficking, and discuss steps individuals can take to help combat exploitation in their own communities. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in conversations about how education, awareness, and individual actions are essential in addressing this serious issue. Human trafficking remains a serious and often overlooked issue, affecting individuals across demographics. By increasing awareness and education, this event aims to empower the EvCC community with knowledge and resources to combat trafficking and support those affected. Students and faculty are strongly encouraged to attend, engage in the discussion, and take the first step toward becoming informed advocates for change. Join us on January 29th to learn how your awareness and actions can help make a real difference in the fight against human trafficking. For more information on this event, please contact Val Gomez-Robertson, TAB Coordinator, at vgomezrobertson@everettcc.edu or Student LIFE Advisor, Lindsay Hudson, at lhudson@everettcc.edu or (425) 388-9508.If you are a person with a disability and need accommodation in connection with this event, contact the Center for Disability Services at least 5 days in advance at 425-388-9272 or cds@everettcc.edu.
