  • We're here to help you navigate the financial aid process each step of the way. Visit the Financial Aid office in Parks 307 during office hours, email fin_aid@everettcc.edu, or call 425-388-9280 for assistance. Students can get in person customer service for Financial Aid in Parks 307 starting April 8.  
  • Think you don't qualify for financial aid? Think again. The nationally recognized Washington College Grant (formerly the State Need Grant) makes education and training beyond high school affordable. Beginning in 2020-2021, more low- and middle-income families will qualify. Learn more about the Washington College Grant.
  •  Virtual and in -person financial aid info and filing events are ongoing throughout the state and throughout the academic year,  in coordination with the Washington Student Achievement Council’s 12th Year Campaign
  • Get free help filing a financial aid application! Everett Community College Financial Aid Staff are here to help you during regular office hours by email, phone or by zoom meeting. You don't have to be a current EvCC student to get help filing your financial aid application! In Washington, there are two different applications for financial aid, but you only need to file one. Please contact us if you're not sure which application to complete.
  • File the FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) if you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Prepare to complete the FAFSA.
  • File the WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) if you meet WA Residency and are not eligible to complete the FAFSA due to immigration status. Prepare to complete the WASFA.
  • If you're unsure whether to complete the FAFSA®or WASFA, please contact our office or please visit WSAC for more information. Here is a helpful tool https://wsac.wa.gov/WASFAelig to determine if the WASFA is the right application for you.
  • The U.S.Department of Education today announced that automatic discharges will begin for 804,000 borrowers who qualify for $39 billion in student loan relief as a result of fixes to income-driven repayment (IDR) plans implemented by the Biden-Harris Administration since April 2022. In total, the Biden-Harris Administration has approved more than $116 billion in student loan forgiveness for more than 3.4 million borrowers. Borrowers will be notified by the Department of Education's major student loan services, including Nelnet, Aidvantage and MOHELA.Visit studentaid.gov for more information.

  • The new and simplified 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available 24/7 to everyone as of January 8th, officially ending the “soft launch”.  Check out the Federal Student Aid (FSA) Video: What changed on the 2024-25 FAFSA® Form?
  • The 2024-25 WASFA is live as of January 5th, but there are some issues - impacted applicants will be connected by Washington Student Achievement Council staff to resolve.
  • Applications usually open October 1, and will again in future years.
  • We anticipate that we will begin processing 24-25 financial aid applications mid-June 2024. 
  • Get a head start on your FAFSA® and create an FSA ID on the Federal Student Aid website and assist your contributors, such as your parent(s) or spouse, in creating an FSA ID.
    • An FSA ID is an account and password that gives you access to the Federal Student Aid’s online system and serves as your electronic signature.
    • With the FSA ID, you can fill out the FAFSA®, sign your Master Promissory Note (MPN), apply for repayment plans, complete loan counseling, and use the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Help Tool.
    • If you already have an FSA ID, there is no need to create a new one.  Your existing FSA ID will continue to work.
  • For an estimate of your federal financial aid for 2024-2025, you can use the Federal Student Aid Estimator on the Federal Student Aid website. This tool estimates the Student Aid Index (SAI) for 2024-2025 and the federal aid for which you may qualify.

  • The Department of Education recently launched two videos—one for students and one for contributors—that guide applicants and their families through the process to make corrections and submit the 24-25 FAFSA form.   • Spring Quarter 2024 Financial Aid disbursements are estimated to begin March 27th, 2024 for students that have been offered spring quarter financial aid. Until that time, it may appear that you owe the full amount of your tuition. If you completed the 2023-24 FAFSA® or WASFA and submitted all required documents by February 16th, 2024,  you will see  Financial Aid “Tuition Deferment” hold on your ctcLink account, it is a positive hold and will not prevent you from adding or dropping classes. Tuition Deferment will keep you enrolled until your aid can be disbursed to your student account. Note: the "Disbursement Date" in the Financial Aid Tile may not be the actual date your funding will be disbursed to your student account, it is the earliest date that we will begin financial aid disbursements for the quarter.

  • To view your 23-24 Financial Aid Offer, log into your Student Homepage in your ctcLink Account   You may calculate if you will owe a balance or if you may be getting a financial aid refund, by adding up your total financial aid awards for a Term and subtracting them from your tuition and fees balance due for the same Term. Financial aid refunds will be disbursed to you through BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc.

  • New Washington College Grant - Connect Program (WCG-Connect)

    Through WCG-Connect, people who qualify for certain approved public benefits or support programs can automatically be considered for Washington College Grant without completing a financial aid application like the federal FAFSA® form or the state WASFA form. If you meet the residency and program requirements, you can get free money for college or career training. 

    Keep in mind, even if you qualify for Washington College Grant through WCG-Connect, there may be additional federal or state financial aid available to you. Completing a FAFSA or WASFA financial aid application is the only way to know for sure how much money you can get. For more information about the program, visit wsac.wa.gov/wcg-connect.

  • How to get Washington College Grant through WCG-Connect 

    If you believe you are eligible for WCG-Connect, complete the following steps to get started on your education pathway: 

    • Apply for admission to a participating college or training program.
    • Contact the financial aid office at the college or program and tell them you believe you are eligible for WCG-Connect. 
    • Have your approval letter or confirmation of enrollment in an eligible WCG-Connect partner program available—you made need it to verify eligibility.

  • ctcLink: We have replaced our old financial aid portal with ctcLink. The Financial Aid Tile in ctcLink is now the primary communication tool regarding your financial aid, where you will be able to: 

    • Check on your financial aid award and disbursement information. 
    • Find documents you need to submit, or have already submitted. It is important to submit any requested documents right away to avoid delays in processing your financial aid.
    • Receive messages from the Financial Aid Office.
    • View financial aid application status, view aid offered, view messages and  "Task List"  for any required information or documents you must submit.
  • You may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and can apply for benefits through the Washington Connection online portal or in-person at a local Department of Social and Health Services office. You can also receive assistance in applying and be connected to additional resources by contacting the Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) staff at bfet@everettcc.edu. EvCC's Student Campus & Community Resource Manager, Kelsey Lindstrom, can assist you and her email is klindstrom@everettcc.edu.

2023 – 2024 file processing

We are currently processing applications for registered students who completed their FAFSA® or WASFA  and submitted required documents by 03.15.24. We will email you any next steps required and post a message on your Task Tile in ctcLink Student Homepage. We encourage you to register as early as possible for spring quarter. This ensures your eligibility will be determined by the beginning of the quarter. 

  • Spring 2024 tuition deferments (holds) will be automatically placed if you completed your file requirements by February 16th, 2024. This will keep you registered until your file is reviewed and your eligibility is determined. Tuition holds for registered students will be posted on a rolling basis starting February 15th, 2024. We encourage you to monitor your "Task List" in your ctcLink Financial Aid Tile for any additional requirements or documents or other important communications from the Financial Aid Office. 
     
  • The 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) opened October 1, 2022. New and returning students who plan to attend college between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024 should complete the FAFSA® as soon as possible. To assist students and parents in the process, the U.S. Department of Education’s (Department’s) Federal Student Aid office has been sharing tips @FAFSA®, including “6 Things You Need Before Filling Out the FAFSA Form” and “8 Steps to Completing the FAFSA Form.”

 It's important to note that Department of Education has experienced delays in transferring completed FAFSA® applications to colleges/universities. We ask for your patience and we will update this page as we learn more.

As of May 2nd, we anticipate we will begin processing 24-25 financial aid applications mid-June 2024.

If you plan to attend summer 2024:

We do antipate there may be delays. Please be sure to submit your FAFSA® by the summer priority processing date,  April 26th, 2024. If you meet the priority prodessing date and you are registered for summer classes, we will place a temporary financial aid hold to defer your tuition payment until your application is processed. If for any reason you do not qualify, the hold will be removed and you will need to make payment arrangements with the Cashiers Office or seek out alterative funding options, such as alternative student loans, tuition payment plans, or contact Workforce Funding Office to see if you may qualify for assistance through their office.  

After you submit your 24-25  FAFSA®, you should receive an email acknowledgement from Federal Student Aid (sent to the email address you use for FAFSA®). However, please be aware that our office will not be able to receive your application at this time, or view any of your submitted FAFSA® information, or advise you on aid eligibility until a later date (currently estimated to be mid-June 2024).  

 If you list EvCC on your application and it is successfully processed by the Department of Education's Federal Student Aid (FSA), we will notify you by email along with any next steps required, and we will post a message on your Task Tile in ctcLink Student Homepage. Priority Processing Dates for Application Completion

We recommend filing your FAFSA® or WASFA at least two weeks in advance of the quarter you plan to register.

We review your application based on the date your last required item or document was completed and submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Once registration begins for the quarter that you plan to start taking classes at EvCC, we prioritize the review of files for registered students. To receive your aid on time, it’s important to meet the priority processing dates listed below and to register for classes as soon as you can.

Once we begin the review process, we may ask you to submit additional documents or complete additional processes. If this happens, the date you originally completed the last item we asked for does not change. However, you must turn in the new information within two weeks to prevent delays. 

Important: You automatically miss the priority processing date if you submit the FAFSA/WASFA on the same day.

Pell Grant Recipients Eligible for Federal Internet Subsidy During Pandemic

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently announced the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program to help those struggling to pay for internet amid the pandemic, stating that a household is eligible to receive the benefit if one member of the household received a federal Pell Grant during the current award year, among other possible criteria for eligibility. Under the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, eligible households can receive up to $50 per month to help pay for broadband internet service. Written or electronic confirmation from a student’s school that the individual is a Pell Grant recipient will serve as verification for the program, or a student’s financial aid award letter documenting the amount of their Pell Grant award received for the current year. A copy of a student’s paid invoice that shows the student’s receipt of a Pell Grant during the current award year or a copy of the student’s Student Aid Report will all serve as proper documentation, according to the notice from the FCC. Avoid Scams

The Federal Trade Commission is warning that scammers are taking advantage of the ongoing pandemic in attempts to obtain students’ financial and personal information, in some instances posing as financial aid offices. If you receive an email that tells you to click on a link to get a message about your COVID-19 economic stimulus check — and it needs to be opened through a portal link requiring your university login. Don’t do it. It’s a phishing scam. If you click to “log in,” you could be giving your username, password, or other personal information to scammers, while possibly downloading malware onto your device.
