Get interactive: Classroom engagement

Engagement tips shared by you and your colleagues:

Establish class norms and expections from the beginning Learn background of your students and share yours
Ask students about their expectations Give practical, real-world examples
Use humor and provide moments of fun Offer short breaks
Use annotations, polls, and reactions in online classrooms Revisit/review important content

Get interactive: Photos/sharing

  • We prefer to use our own students, instructors, and alumni photos and stories in marketing materials. Here is how you can help!
  • Share photos & videos of your classes and encourage your students to also. Before you share, get a signed photo release from your students (required).
    • Digital photo release form - Have everyone in the photo submit the digital form before sharing (you/they can pull this up on a mobile device or at the instructor station computer, OR
    • Print photo release form  - Give completed photo releases to the front desk or your program manager before sharing.
  • Once you have permission for everyone in the photo, you can share on social media and tag CCEC, or send them to lijones@everettcc.edu to share out for you.
  • Here are some image tips  on how to get a good headshot and create images for social media.
  • Do you know of a student or program alumni with an exceptional story to tell about their experience? Send their information to lijones@everettcc.edu to follow up about a potential student spotlight story.

Additional Student Support

  • Students with questions about college policies, class schedules, and registration should be directed to CCEC's Operations Team at learn@everettcc.edu or 425-267-0150.
  • The Center for Disability Services (CDS) office provides qualified students with documented disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in the variety of educational, recreational, and social opportunities available at Everett Community College. CDS provides academic accommodations for students with a documented permanent or temporary physical, mental, or sensory disability; resource and referral information; and advocacy support as necessary and appropriate. Taking a few moments for yourself between classes or during breaks can help calm your nerves and anxieties and reset your body and mind. 

Marketing Your Classes

Direct communication from subject area experts and peers is the most impactful way to encourage interest in your classes. In addition to the many ways that we market CCEC programs, we have several tools and resources available to help you reach and interact with potential students to help fill your classes.

Connect, share, tag, comment, and check in with EvCC's Corporate & Continuing Education Center. Tell your friends and colleagues about the work you are doing with CCEC! Share articles or thoughts relating to your industry or class through social media accounts.
